When you're looking for a roll-up banner for the first time, the question „how much does it cost?" is quite natural. However, the answer is not straightforward — the price of a roll-up banner depends on several specific factors, and understanding them will save you money and disappointment. In this article we will look at exactly what the price includes, what the main types of banners are, and how to get the best ratio between quality and price.
Many people think that a roll-up banner is simply „a printed poster on a stand". In reality, the final price includes several components, each of which affects the total amount.
The first is the structure — the cassette and stand itself, into which the canvas is rolled and from which it is pulled out. The quality of the mechanism determines how many times the banner can be unrolled and rolled back up without the canvas wrinkling or the mechanism failing.
The second component is the banner canvas material — polypropylene (matte film), glossy vinyl or fabric. Each material has a different price, different weight and a different visual effect.
The third is the print — full-color digital printing, the price of which depends on the size of the canvas and the type of material.
And finally — the carrying bag or case with which the banner is transported and stored.
When comparing offers from different suppliers, make sure you are comparing complete sets, not just the stand or just the printing.
Size is one of the most direct factors determining the final price. A wider and taller canvas requires more material and a larger printing area, which increases the price.
Here are the standard sizes and what they are suitable for:
This is perhaps the most important choice after size. There are two main types of structures on the market, and the price difference between them is real and justified.
The standard roll-up banner has a plastic or lightweight aluminum cassette. The mechanism is simple, the price is lower. It is suitable when the banner will be used rarely — for example, for one or two exhibitions a year, or for long-term static use in one place.
The reinforced STRONG roll-up banner has a sturdier metal cassette and a spring mechanism with a higher durability class. The canvas rolls and pulls out smoothly even after hundreds of uses. With frequent use — three, four or more exhibitions a year — the reinforced banner is more cost-effective in the long run.
An additional option is the double-sided roll-up banner — it allows different graphics to be placed on each side. A practical solution when the booth is accessible from two sides or when you want to combine two messages without buying two separate banners.
Polypropylene (PP) matte film is standard, affordable and has good color reproduction. Its matte surface does not reflect light, which makes it convenient under various lighting conditions. Suitable for most business uses.
Glossy vinyl has brighter colors and a slight sheen. Under strong artificial lighting it can produce glare, so it is more suitable for outdoor use or in less brightly lit halls.
Fabric canvas is the most expensive option, but also has the most prestigious appearance. Matte finish without glare, soft to the touch and with a more luxurious look. Preferred by fashion brands, automotive companies and corporate event organizers. Lighter and easier to transport than vinyl.
Preparation of the print file is key. If you provide a ready file with the correct resolution and correct margins, there are no additional costs. If design work is required, it is usually calculated separately.
Quantity plays a role in wholesale orders. When ordering 5, 10 or more banners — for example, for a dealer network or a chain of stores — it is normal to expect a better unit price.
Production and delivery times can also affect the price. Standard production time is 1–2 working days after the file is received. For urgent orders, an additional charge for priority production is possible.
Delivery is added to the price and varies depending on the courier company and the volume of the shipment.
The most common mistake when buying a roll-up banner is choosing based on the lowest price alone. A banner with a poor structure will break after the second exhibition, and a poor-quality print will look unprofessional and harm your company's image.
If you plan to participate in exhibitions regularly, invest in a reinforced structure with good printing — the expense will pay for itself many times over. If the banner is for a one-time promotion or event, the standard option is entirely sufficient.
At Printopix we work only with European partners and manufacturers. All structures are kept in stock — including the full range from 85×200 to 200×200 cm — which allows fast delivery via Econt or Speedy.
